In April 1942, Filipinos and Americans surrendered to Japanese military and was forced to march 65 miles from Mariveles, Bataan to San Fernando, Pampanga. This has been known as the Bataan Death March and it has said to have been taken five days to complete. Thousands are tortured and died as the marchers were beaten. Those survivors who reached the San Fernando become prisoners and soon died from starvation, disease and mistreatment.
